I joined the Department of Transport and Planning as a PhD candidate in Feb 2017. I am working on the project – ‘Lane-specific traffic flow control models’ under the supervision of Victor Knoop. I received my Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, India with distinction in 2014. My bachelors thesis was on the effect of confining the lateral reinforcement in Reinforced Concrete (RCC) Columns.
I completed my Masters in Civil Engineering from The University of Tokyo, Japan in 2016. I was awarded the prestigious MEXT scholarship by the Japanese government to pursue my Masters there. My Master’s thesis focussed on the modelling of vehicular interactions with the opposing vehicles on two-way two-lane roads using data collected from a driving simulator experiment. I am interested in the modelling and analysis of driving behaviour and Intelligent Transport Systems.
